Adax Contributes Have Joined the CP-TA

Adax Europe Ltd, an industry leader in high-performance converging network solutions, has today announced that they have joined the Communications Platform Trade Association (CP-TA). The scope of the CP-TA is to address specifications at the application interface layer and below. Initially, CP-TA is focused on defining and managing interoperability testing for AdvancedTCA, and will also address hardware, the Intelligent Platform Management Interface and the Service Availability Forum’s Hardware Platform Interface.

In recent years, the communications platforms industry has developed a rich set of open specifications in order to build modular communications platforms. However, the number of optional requirements and inconsistent interpretations of mandatory requirements has prevented the industry from moving to the next level of interoperability. CP-TA’s mission is to drive a mainstream market for open industry standards-based communications platforms by certifying interoperable products.

“CP-TA defines the requirements of interoperability between various Telecom Equipment Manufacturers (TEMs) ensuring tested platforms based on ATCA, AMC and Micro-TCA. It solidifies the partnerships amongst the ecosystem members and introduces Carrier-Grade Base Platforms,” comments Michael Khoury, Director of Business Development. “CP-TA enables Network Equipment Providers (NEPs) and systems integrators faster time-to-market at lower COTS solutions. Ultimately, CP-TA will benefit carriers and service providers with new services at lower cost of integration while providing alternative solutions” continues Khoury.
