In order to realize such a minimum connection speed 512 Kbps, technical arrangements has to be made. It is reported that Turkey’s overseas connection which is 12 Gbps at the moment has to be increased to 14 Gbps.
It is also reported that, in the prime times approximately 8 Gbps access bandwidth is required. While the subscriber number is continuously increasing, the overseas internet connection bandwidth is planned to be made 14 Gbps initially and then increased to 20 Gbps in a short period of time.
At the moment 256 Kbps ADSL internet access costs 49 YTL ($ 37) to the end user, 512 Kbps is priced at 69 YTL ($ 53). When the minimum connection speed is increased to 512 Kbps, the price of this service is expected still to be 49 YTL ($ 37).
