And the Information Submit is Over

We can answer it saying that 3 separate activities regarding informatics have been conducted this year. These are:

  • The Information Assembly organized by Information society of Turkey, in scope of Information Week03.
  • Information Summit03 organized by Interpro.
  • The Information Fair, organized by Cebit.

Two separate assemblies to be held in information sector -which is one of the most important industries of today- made participators surprised and also upset. Participators were challenged since same kinds of activities were held on the same date, even at the same hours. A decrease in number of participators because of the split, was observed.

As the number of participators of the meetings, except the forums organized concerning the Telekom, which is the hot agenda of the sector, was between 20 and 40, this number was between 3 and 30 at the assembly, except for the opening. And this was commented to be very engrossing for the assembly and the summit, to where it had been announced that approximately 5.000 participators were expected to come.

Forums attracting the greatest attention were those about e-signature and e-conversion. This fact was commented as the existence of heaviness of bureaucratic operations and the demand to lessen the time being lost because of it, by using the technology.

Weather conditions changing at once, especially during last two days and Istanbul being affected by the rainy weather influenced in a negative way, the participation to both the Information summit and the Information Assembly.

Pillars of the state were among the important guests of the Assembly. Many high level executive administrators joined the assemblies to introduce E-Government practices. Exhibitions and projects carried out in scope of E-government were introduced. In consequence of all these works, aspiration of people for a change in the government could easily be observed. As projects in scope of E-Government get practiced, our lives will become much easier and we will have opportunity to allow more time to ourselves.

Enhancing the computer-literacy level is in the first priority in order to make e-government applications activated. Success of project depends on educating the people on this issue.
