Almost 100,000 customers have downloaded the App since November when British Gas became the first UK energy company to offer an iPhone application. In June alone, 18,000 meter readings were submitted by customers through their iPhone, iPod or iPad.
With version 2, customers can also view their account balance, their last bill amount, when payment is due and view graphs of their personal energy consumption of the past 24 months. The App also includes an email facility which is proving popular with customers as a way to ask British Gas questions and resolve queries.
