As the first awards ceremony in the sector, an objective of the organisers
has been to provide a platform to raise awareness of the importance of the sector in Europe, to facilitate an independent reference point for excellence and to support winning companies in their marketing and communications initiatives. The underlying value of the awards is to recognise leadership, innovation and value creation in the data centre and managed services sector.

The organisers will be moving towards a short list once voting has closed at the end of February, however companies nominated across seven categories so far – some in more than one category – include (in alphabetical order):

Active Power, APC, ARUP, Atkins, Attenda, BladeLogic, Capgemini, Check Point, Datacenter Luxembourg, Digital Realty, euNetworks, Fujitsu Services, Galileo Connect, Global Switch, HP, IBM, INS Europe, InTechnology plc, Interxion, ISP Solutions SA, IX Europe, Level 3, Migration Solutions, Nexellent AG, Nova, NTT Online, Phoenix IT, Pioneer Technology, QLayer, Rackspace, Safehost, Savvis, Schnabel AG, Scotland Online, Steria, Stockley Park, Sun, Sungard, Telecity Redbus, The Bunker, TIC The Internet Company, T-Systems, Verizon Business Services and VMWare.

The final category, outstanding CEO of the year award, has been hotly contested with some fifteen business leaders nominated so far for this prestigious award.

“The Data Centres Europe Awards Ceremony promises to be an exciting evening and high on the agenda of all competitors in this growing marketplace,” commented Nicola Hayes, vice president at BroadGroup, the event researchers and organisers. “We can predict this event will be the largest regional gathering of leaders and decision makers in the sector combined with this year’s theme of Enterprise IT outsourcing to third parties. The event connects the Enterprise to the data centre, and the awards provide commercially valuable benchmarks.”

Data Centres Europe has assembled more than fifty speakers over 3 days,
including a one-day Hosted Software Summit, and Green Data Centre Seminar, and will sustain its record as the leading content-driven event for the sector in the EMEA region in 2007, providing market insight, an outstanding networking experience and a premier showcase for data centre technologies and solutions.
