Expand has also announced it has appointed Patrick O’Shea and Nicola Harvey as Enterprise Sales Manager, EMEA and Regional Channel Manager, UK and Ireland respectively. Both personnel and partner appointments are part of the company’s aggressive growth strategy to tap into increasing market opportunities.

“Voice over IP is fast becoming the strategic application for businesses
seeking to reduce communication costs and improve the efficiency of their corporate WANs. Existing WAN capacity, QoS and latency worries though provide formidable barriers to widescale adoption of VoIP by the enterprise,” said Scott Dobson, Managing Director, VCOMM. “Expand’s products overcome these technical hurdles with crucial functionality such as bandwidth expansion, Layer 7 QoS and monitoring and application traffic management to ensure that VoIP can work in any network environment, especially over low speed branch office links. Expand guarantees network resources for critical applications such as VoIP and are thus the enabling mechanism for the painfree rollout of VoIP and any other mission critical application.”

“The necessity for enterprises to enhance the performance of applications over the WAN is becoming acutely more evident daily and has led to a growing demand from customers for application acceleration solutions,” said Adam Davison, Vice President, EMEA, Expand Networks. “VCOMM is a specialist Distributor focused in the Voice over IP vertical that has the right mix of technical experience, knowledge and extensive channel relationships to take advantage of the market opportunities. A combination of VCOMM on board and the appointments of Patrick and Nicola, will enable Expand to increase its market reach and is just the first part of a strategic move to develop and grow the UK and EMEA operations.”

As a result of the significant traction it is receiving for its products, Expand Networks has made two new appointments to its UK management team to satisfy end-user demand and develop the channel routes to market. Patrick O’Shea joins with 15 years experience in high-level negotiations within the communications and IT industry and has worked for renowned companies such as Orange, Dimension Data and Purplesoftware. Patrick’s background will be pivotal in supporting the end user community and he will be responsible for generating demand for Expand’s products with the top 500 companies within EMEA through the channel. Nicola Harvey is well versed in network management and application performance sections having previously worked for Network Associates, Veritas and Precise in major account roles. As Expand further develops its channel, Nicola will be responsible for structuring a solutions focused reseller base and will work with them closely to identify and support key markets of focus.
