Grid Telekom Working with Force10 Networks

Force10 Networks, the pioneer in building and securing reliable networks, today announced that Grid Telekom, a leading data center and hosting service provider in Turkey, has deployed the Force10 Reliable Networking product portfolio to deliver high performance data center hosting services. The Force10 data center networking solution provides the high performance reliability that will allow Grid Telekom to deliver advanced services while laying the foundation for the delivery of triple play services in the future.

“To build our next-generation network, we needed immediate bandwidth and reliability to support our existing business as well as to provide a scalable foundation for our future initiatives,” said Hakan Akan, founder and general manager at Grid Telekom. “Force10 equipment was selected for its unparalleled ability to offer a robust infrastructure that will support our customer base as well as our efforts to offer new services that will attract new subscribers.”

At Grid Telekom’s primary data center in Istanbul, the Force10 TeraScale E300 is the redundant foundation of the high performance Gigabit Ethernet network while the S50 access switch extends the core-like reliability of the TeraScale E-Series to the edge of the network. The high Gigabit Ethernet density of the TeraScale E300 – up to 288 ports in a single chassis – enables Grid Telekom to simplify its network architecture as well as lower its related capital and operational costs by collapsing multiple layers into a single one.

The Force10 TeraScale E-Series and S-Series provide a unified network fabric in the data center with consistent reliability, control and scalability characteristics from the core to the edge. By building these performance metrics into the network, Grid Telekom is ensuring that its network is service ready.

To protect the internal network from security lapses, Grid Telekom has also deployed the Force10 P10 security appliance to provide line-rate traffic inspection and monitoring based on custom capture and filtering policies. The Force10 P-Series leverages a patented Dynamic Parallel Inspection architecture that processes rules simultaneously to ensure the highest level of network protection and visibility, providing further control over the traffic on the network.

“As Grid Telekom continues to build out its data center infrastructure and prepares to deliver triple play solutions, reliable performance and the ability to scale are imperative,” said Stephen Garrison, vice president of marketing at Force10 Networks. “By deploying the Force10 TeraScale E-Series and S-Series in tandem with the P-Series security appliances, Grid Telekom is ensuring network integrity and reliability to guarantee maximum uptime and facilitate the reliable delivery of services.”

Force10 Networks partnered with Allied Telesis International (ATI) to provide Grid Telekom with a high performance network that would support the company’s future service expansion plans. In addition to Grid Telekom, the partnership between Force10 and ATI has resulted in several other regional deployments, including a campus network upgrade for Selenia Communications, a world leader in information security and communications products for military, government and commercial organizations.

Reliable Networking by Force10 delivers the reliability, network control and scalability service providers require to ensure their network is ready to deliver evolving and emerging services.
