Doncaster Local Authority recently reviewed the performance of public transport in their area and used Highways Analyst to help produce insights for the Bus Intelligence report.
Highways Analyst with Trafficmaster data was used to deliver congestion monitoring and traffic flow information to track congestion levels and trends by road type and time of day, including school holidays.
Using Highways Analyst, Martin Bowman, Business Intelligence Officer at South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive, was able to create maps of the core network over time, which helped to visualise the changes in Doncaster.
Martin Bowman said, Analysing Trafficmaster was beyond our in-house capacity, and because of that we were missing out on a wealth of intelligence that this free big data source could provide.
As a result of Highways Analyst we can quickly and easily dig into the evidence, looking back over years to understand where policies and schemes have worked, and ensure we target our finite resource effectively.
