Public IT Investments has Passed over 2 Billion TL in Turkey for 2011

Due to the compiled information of DPT (State Planning Institute) Information Community Department, it has been recorded as except for 2008, the public it investments which has been increasing according to the previous year has increased 4 times more since 2002. The projects on education sector has contributed this increment happened in year 2011.

As in 2002, the fund devoted by central administration budget for IT investments was 526 million TL (1,5 TL=1 US$) with the value of 2011, due to the compiled information of DPT Information Community Department, it has been recorded as except for 2008, the public it investments which has been increasing according to the previous year has increased 4 times more since 2002. The projects on education sector has contributed this increment happened in year 2011.

Most investment being made for IT is by the education sector

The envisioned distribution of public IT investments between sectors for 2011 shows that the education sector including the investments of ministry of national education and universities is at the first rank with %43 of all. Ministry for Internal Affairs, Social Security Institution, Land Registry and Cadastre, and the corporations which has been prosecuting important e-government projects are following the education sector with the rate of %41. Apart from this two sector, transmission and communication sector has %9 of the margin and has been making important amounts of investments.

The corporations which has contributed the most amount of fund for IT investments : Ministry of National Education , Social Security Institution and Land Registry and Cadastre Management

It can be seen that the Ministry of National Education is at the leading rank with its projects such as Fatih Project, Secondary Education Project and Computer Classes for Primary Education Project, among the other public institutions which will make the most investments at the year 2011. Also the other institutions coming into prominence with their large amounts of IT investments are, Social Security Institution with the Hardware Purchase and Modernisation of Central and Provincial Organization and The establishment and Configuration of E-signature and Mobile Signature Supported Electronic Document and Archieve Management projects, Ministry for Internal Affairs with the Registration Services BT Projects and e-internal affairs projects and the Land Registry and Cadastre Management with the TAKBS Project.

496 Million TL to Fatih Project in 2011

Fatih Project has become the most fund-devoted IT Project with 496 million TL. In 2011, the BIT projects coming forward with the biggest amount of budget are The Establishment and Configuration of E-signature and Mobile Signature Supported Electronic Document and Archieve Management projects with 110,4 million TL funded, Secondary Education Project with 102 million TL funded, Computer Classes for Primary Education Project with 90 million TL funded and TAKBS Project with 71,8 million TL funded.
