The RAD products that have been declared interoperable with IP-over-satellite applications are the Vmux-400 A-bis and A-ter GSM optimization gateway and the Vmux-2100 voice trunking gateway.
Reduces Opex Across the Entire Backhaul Pathway The Vmux-400 improves mobile network resources by enabling up to 3:1 bandwidth optimization, as well as a 2:1 reduction in the number of E1 ports required. RAD’s Vmux-2100 voice trunking gateway provides A (BSC-to-MSC) interface and E (MSC-to-MSC/PSTN) interface optimization, offering compression rates of up to 16:1. Both products are adapted to function in a terrestrial, satellite or microwave environment over Ethernet/IP/MPLS packet-switched networks, or TDM-based transport. Used together, RAD’s Vmux solutions significantly reduce operating expenses (Opex) across the entire backhaul pathway while enabling cellular operators to expand their network infrastructure and introduce new services without incurring additional leased line costs.
