“The great thing about to-do lists is that they are completely open-ended,” says Jens Christian Winther, a Director of Cloud Circus. “People keep online task lists for everything from organising a weekend away to planning this year’s marketing campaign. So we let them get on with it. With tagging, they can run all those task lists in parallel and never miss a step. ccToDo keeps track of the lot; it cuts stress down to size.”
The task-management tags that users apply to their tasks are entirely user-defined. They can be as simple as ‘shopping’ or as complex as ‘GR72-launch-campaign’. And users can add as many tags as they need. All they have to do is separate their tags with a space.
Multiple tags allow users to see all tasks that relate to a particular project or to pull together all those that involve, say, phoning or emailing. That makes it easy to streamline work flows by completing related tasks in a batch.
Jens explains: “Like all ccToDo functionality, tagging applies across platforms – iPhone, Windows, and online too. Wherever people go, their tagged task lists go with them. They’re constantly productive. Since tagged tasks can be re-dated or reassigned, users have a complete go-anywhere productivity management tool. It works for individuals and organisations.”
Like many other features of ccToDo, tagging was suggested by users. Cloud Circus is keen to let users direct the development of the app. They see that as the best way of making it even more relevant to the social and business lives of the people who use it most.
