Fujitsu, Motorola, Nokia, Panasonic, Samsung, Sanyo, LG Electronics and Sharp Corporation are just a few of the companies to headline the event which took place in Ascot and Cambridge on June 5 and 7.
UK Trade and Investment Chief Executive Andrew Cahn said this year’s conference focused on mobile, wireless and broadcast technology as well as software security.
“In the UK we have hundreds of ICT companies who are developing new generation technology. TechnologyWorld07 gives these innovative companies the opportunity to showcase their products and services to industry leaders from across the world,” Mr Cahn said.
“Mobile phone technology is developing at a rate of knots. It’s hard to imagine, but sooner rather than later we’ll be able to pay our bills, do our banking and watch television on our mobiles. Our credit cards, bank cards and even our oyster card will all be a thing of the past as our mobile phones becomes even more multi purpose.
“These are the types of innovations which will be the centre of discussion at TechnologyWorld07 as international industry leaders look to partner with the UK’s cutting-edge technology companies.”
Mr Cahn said last year’s TechnologyWorld06 generated more than 13million worth of business for UK ICT businesses.
“With such a strong science base, the UK is leading the charge in developing new technology solutions including device, equipment and component manufacturers, software application developers, technology and connectivity specialists and R&D partners in electronic components and transmission technologies.”
The event is unique in enabling delegates to meet groups of buyers and have one-to-one meetings all in one place. In particular, the one-to-one meetings with multinational companies are extremely useful as they can, early on, determine whether there is mutual interest.
It is an important opportunity for smaller UK technology companies in particular as it gives them access to large multinationals.
Surrey and Cambridge have been selected because they are the key areas where many of the UK’s most talented research and development projects take place and are ideal locations for local businesses to showcase their innovative new products to the world market.
