Turkish Telecom is planning to reach 45 Gbps overseas internet connection speed in response to 2.2 million ADSL subscribers. It is reported that the number of ADSL subscribers by the end of 2004 was 470,000 and the goals for 2005 are planned as 920,000 in March, 1,370,000 in June, 1,820,000 in September and 2,270,000 in December.
These assertive goals look as if they were good news for the development of internet and telecommunications, but on the other hand when we consider that dozens of user mails that arrive everyday mostly complain about ADSL problems, these questions arise: Will the problems increase by the same ratio? Or will the problems lessen as a result of increased goals?
We had announced about the innovations that Turkish Telecom has made in their call centers and the new project that they plan to deploy this year. With the project that gives their solution partners a more active role, the ADSL subscribers will be able to receive service. So, the problems about the modem, PC and copper cabling which are at the user’s side is planned to be eliminated. Of course, this aim that offers the reduction of many problems has to deal with the server side also, which is within the Turkish Telecom. It is anticipated that there will also be problematic areas there.
