London, UK 27 March 2012: Mobi UK, a web-based service that allows businesses to quickly and inexpensively create their own mobile websites, today unveiled a new suite of services for businesses of any size to create a strong and effective mobile web presence.

The introduction of the new services, which include an improved user-friendly CMS system, a lead capture form, Google Map pages, cloud storage, new template designs and the ability to create QR barcodes have been prompted by research that demonstrates that accessing the web through mobile devices has consistently doubled every year since 2009[1] alongside research carried out by leading website analytics company QuBit that shows that UK companies are losing billions of pounds in sales through poor mobile Websites.

QuBits whitepaper[2] also says that medium-sized companies in the UK on average lose 5 million annually with sites that aren’t fully optimized for mobile devices, and that with a properly mobile-optimized site, that businesses could increase sales by 12%.

Other research carried by Microsoft Tag[3] predicts that in 2014, mobile Internet usage will overtake desktop internet usage and shows that already in 2011, more than 50% of all local searches are done from a mobile device, while Morgan Stanley predicts that in the next five years more people will connect to the Internet via mobile as opposed to a PC[4].

Mobi UKs Chief Executive Tyrone Lindsey comments: Many businesses were left behind when it came to establishing a decent web presence when the Internet began becoming mainstream in the early 90s, but all indications are that businesses actually have a lot more to lose as more consumers rely on their mobiles to access the Internet and with faster mobile broadband connections and cheaper data services, all indications are that this is set to increase at an ever faster pace.

UK businesses without mobile websites are losing money as mobile web usage rockets says Mobi UK.

Weve done our best to make the whole process of putting a fully-optimized mobile website together as easy as possible for companies of any size and no programming knowledge is needed to quickly create a mobile website in order to make sure theyre not missing out on the burgeoning mobile economy. All companies need to start thinking about their mobile strategy – today – to avoid missing out on significant amounts of potential business.

Mobi UKs mobile website design tools have been designed with business in mind working on all mobile devices, with probably the most user-friendly CMS system available, businesses from city lawyers to country butchers can quickly create a strong, aesthetically pleasing and effective mobile presence that will serve them for years to come. Mobi UK is also committed to constantly reviewing and improving their service to stay ahead of competitors, with future plans including Cloud storage and online chat.

[1] Statcounter: In its latest report, StatCounter says that global Internet usage through mobile devices rose to 8.5%, nearly doubling the 2011 figure of 4.3%. Since 2009, the rate of mobile Internet use has consistently doubled every year. (Mobile internet usage is doubling year on year)
