Vallent Corporation, the leader in Service Assurance solutions for the communications industry, announced today that it has been short-listed in the “Best Network Quality Initiative” category of the GSM Association Awards 2006 for its ground-breaking deployment of ServiceAssure™, a customer-centric Service Quality Management & Service Level Agreement (SQM/SLA) management system at Cingular Wireless, USA.

The award recognizes the contribution that operators and network management organizations make to maintain high levels of performance, as well as the contribution from infrastructure suppliers and other specialist organizations that are focused on delivering quality to the end user.

Vallent’s nomination is in recognition for its success in deploying the first customer-centric SQM/SLA management system in the wireless industry that can truly manage the end-to-end service quality delivered to customers.

Speaking on behalf of Vallent, Chief Technology Officer Kieran Moynihan said, “We are deeply honoured to receive this nomination in recognition of our outstanding partnership with Cingular Wireless in deploying ServiceAssure™ to truly enable customer-centric management. It is further recognition of our position as leaders in the Service Assurance space and our vision for integrated end-to-end performance and service management of next-generation networks”

The winners of the GSM Association Awards, the “Oscars of the Mobile Industry”, will be announced on the 14th of February during the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona, the world’s largest telecommunications show.

Speaking on behalf of the GSM Association, CEO, Rob Conway commented, “The 2006 GSM Association Awards have been specifically designed to showcase the diversity of products and services and the quality, ingenuity and level of innovation that combine to fuel the mobile value chain. Entries this year have again exceeded our highest expectations, reflecting the vibrancy of the mobile industry on a global basis. My congratulations on your successful nomination for the 2006 Awards.”

This is the first year that the 3GSM World Congress takes place in Barcelona and Vallent will be exhibiting at stand B29 in Hall 8, where it will be demonstrating the latest additions to its product portfolio.
